Curating with AI: New Public Sector PhD at TEKS
Since January 1, 2026, Zane Cerpina, Artistic Director of TEKS, has been undertaking a Public Sector PhD in collaboration with the Department of Design at NTNU, jointly funded by TEKS and the Research Council of Norway.
Her research focuses on curating with AI, investigating how artificial intelligence reshapes curatorial practice, exhibition-making, institutional frameworks, and the role of the curator. It examines how artistic agency is negotiated and how cultural institutions respond when AI becomes an active part of artistic and curatorial processes.
The project also addresses broader questions of identity and embodiment, exploring how these are transformed through AI and what this means for contemporary art and its presentation.
